In some cases, a “connect/disconnect timeout” error may appear on Ubuntu Server. The problem is with the “mei_me” module.

To resolve the error, you must run two commands on the server.

Execute the first command:

echo "blacklist mei" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/mei.conf

Execute the second command:

echo "blacklist mei_me" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/mei.conf

The “connect/disconnect timeout” error on Ubuntu Server has been successfully fixed and should not appear again.
